Are you curious about Mysore Self-practice? Or maybe you feel intimidated about attending a Mysore class? This course will give you the confidence to transition to the self-practice classes and give you an idea of what it is like to practice Mysore-style.
We will begin with an opportunity to ask questions about how the classes work and why this method is the safest and best way to learn Ashtanga. We will learn some tools and tips (and tricks) on how to be comfortable in a Mysore class setting. You will then be guided through the sun salutations, the poses of the standing and seated series, and the closing poses. Appropriate variations and use of props will be given (where needed) to make the poses accessible to all. Time will be given in between learning poses for you to practice them in time with your own breath, as is done in a Mysore class. This will also help you to begin learning the sequence.
